Delta Homestead

It's is an undisputed fact that deep in the Delta's of Mississippi and in the Windy City of Chicago some of the greatest blues players known to man emerged. Huddy Ledbetter, better known as "Ledbelly, Muddy Waters, Bo Didley and B.B. King are some of the Great Masters that came forth.  Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Alvin Lee, Steve Miller and Jimi Hendrix all followed and also found their place by mastering blues concepts.

First Guitar

But also long before the first guitar was carved, it was known that another would come forth to make his guitar sing in celebration of life and of the blues. Not from the Delta's of Mississippi or from the Windy City of Chicago. But from a small insignificant town in New Jersey surrounded by blueberry fields and pine trees. He would not be better than the masters or even as good as those that followed, but legend would have it  that the Blues lived within Squier Red!

Young Guitar Player

Although I made attempts to play in my early teens, it was with electric guitars that would almost cut your fingers off at the twelfth fret. My knowledge was a few bar chords and a couple of bars of this song or that shown to me by my friends and more advanced players. Briefly as a young man I bought a Gibson Maurauder and Peavey Backstage Amp which went the way of a pawn shop in hard times before any more chords could be achieved. Now fifty, I  once again visit my youth.

On Jan 21, 2004 I Squier Red purchased an Squier Affinity Series, Torrino Red Telecaster. I had a very strict budget of $199 and needed everything, amp, chord and picks. Harry's Guitar Store in Raleigh N.C. worked with me and retrieved an amp out of another starter pack, gave me a "use it as long as it works chord", and complimentary picks, all for $199 dollars total!  I loved the Squier Telecaster and the pickups sounded great, even in my little Squier Sp-10 amp  This lovely, humble and proper axe was the inspiration for my aka as Squier Red and it was known even then that the Blues Band would also follow! Squier Red & The Blues Band are a mature group of individuals from all walks of life who live to play Blues Music. All the members of the band are members of Squier Red's Blues Performers Meetup Group. Blues Music in its purest form is raw and unprocessed, it comes from the heart. All members of this Meetup Group pay to play together a few times a month and money is not their motivation for playing, the love of the Blues Music is! I am sure with enough prior notice; members of this Meetup Group will provide entertainment at your next event for the love of the Blues. Any donation for playtime is appreciated but not expected .
